CCEF Topgolf Tournament Raises Record Amount for CCISD
LEAGUE CITY, Texas – The Clear Creek Education Foundation (CCEF) hosted its 4th Annual CCISD Alumni and Friends TopGolf Tournament on June 27. The tournament hosted more than 220 guests in attendance from around the area, all enjoying a great afternoon full of fun, fellowship, games and prizes! Just over $33,700, a new record for this event, was raised to support innovative programs in the Clear Creek Independent School District (CCISD). New this year, one of the five RV-12 airplanes built by Clear Springs High School students was featured at the event for guests to see. The Clear Creek Education Foundation funded a portion of the first airplane built through a Teacher Innovative Grant. Even more exciting, a fly-by took place with four home-built RV airplanes. Two of the pilots and builders, David Grover and Rick Carr, worked closely with Ernie Butcher, the lead on this aerospace engineering program through Eagle’s Nest Projects, on mentoring the Clear Springs High School students as they built these planes.
The event was planned by a 15 person volunteer committee that included CCEF Community Marketing and Events Manager Kelsey McNeil; Co-Chairmen Traci Dvorak and Jennifer Broddle; CCEF Executive Director Deborah Laine; Committee Members: Joyce Abbey, Joe Barlow, Katy Bastedo, Janet Brown, Kelli Byrd, Julia Gallagher, Jessica Gilbert, Rebecca Lilley, Jenny McCorkle, J.P. Morris, Chris Rylant, Adam Smith and Teresa Yehle.
“It is so exciting to see so many people from the community come out to support teachers and students in Clear Creek ISD, stated event chairman Traci Dvorak. “While everyone is having fun, they learn more about our grant programs, which we hope will encourage them to keep supporting CCEF’s vision of Inspiring Educational Excellence for our CCISD students.”
This event would not have been possible without the support of all the generous sponsors. CCEF would like to thank them for all their support!
