Clear Horizons Early College High School (CHECHS)


Clear Horizons Early College High School was established in 2007 on the campus of San Jacinto College South to provide opportunities to student populations who are traditionally underrepresented in higher education environments.

Helps students develop the necessary learning skills to succeed in both their high school and college courses.

National Board Teacher Certification

The Foundation encourages teachers to achieve the highest and most rigorous standards set by the U.S. Department of Education by offering financial support upon completion.

The Leader in Me

The program teaches leadership and life skills to students and empowers them with the mindset that every student can be a leader. This creates a culture that leads to academic, behavioral and social improvements of participating students.

The Leader in Me helps students learn how to become self-reliant, take initiative, plan ahead, set and track goals, do their homework, prioritize their time, manage their emotions, be considerate of others, express their viewpoint persuasively, resolve conflicts, find creative solutions, value differences, and live a balanced life.

Robotics, Coding and Computational Thinking (RCC)

SIGs are designed to encourage and support  innovative teaching and learning on a large scale.
Robotics, Coding and Computational Thinking (RCC) Program is currently being piloted at Bauerschlag, League City and Ward elementary schools.
After several years of program implementation, all 27 CCISD elementary schools will eventually fold in select components of RCC into their curriculum.
