Mini-Grant in Action at Clear Springs High School!

“Charger Market”

Clear Springs High School Charger Market is an innovative project at Clear Springs HS designed to facilitate and engage special needs students in job related skills to prepare for transitioning to life after high school. Many of the students in Alternative Academics (AA) need reinforcement of job skills like preparing a project, customer service, and project clean up. This program helps raise funds for the AA program as well as reinforce learning.

Over the past few years, CCEF has provided a few grants to help enhance the Charger Market. This past year, a vinyl machine and heat press was generously sponsored through a Mini-Grant by Jonathan Cottrell with Martha Turner Sotheby’s International Realty. This Mini-Grant gives the students the needed resources to learn new skills while increasing products available for sale such as monograms for cups, window decals, and vinyl for shirts!

“It means everything to me that they have the chance to do something rewarding in life!” says their teacher, Lailah Villarreal.
