Annual Fashion Show Raises Record Amount

LEAGUE CITY, Texas– The Clear Creek Education Foundation (CCEF) hosted its 13th annual fashion show on Sunday, March 31st, at Mercedes-Benz of Clear Lake. Themed “I Love CCISD…Where the Community Inspires Education Together” over 250 guests were in attendance and a record amount of more than $30,000 was raised to support innovative programs in the Clear Creek Independent School District (CCISD).

Complete with runway seating, hors d’oeuvre stations provided by 9 local restaurants, a variety of student performances and leadership straight from the talented halls of CCISD, it was an event for all to enjoy. The “I Love CCISD” Fashion Show was directed by national fashion event producer, Lenny Matuszewski Jr., with fashions and makeup provided by Dillard’s – Baybrook Mall and hair by Visible Changes.

The focal points of the evening:

Models included 52 CCISD high school juniors who are very involved in their school and community, 10 guest models who rocked the runway and 5 mayors representing cities who have committed their support to “The Leader in Me” Program in CCISD. Cities include: Mayor Carl Joiner (Kemah), Mayor Donna Rogers (Webster), Mayor Pro Tem Amanda Fenwick (Clear Lake Shores), Mayor Thom Kolupski (Seabrook) and Mayor Mark Denman (Nassau Bay).

Armand Bayou Elementary 5th grade students, Annika Salinas and Carmen Evans, who have been influenced by “The Leader in Me” Program wowed the audience with their leadership skills as the emcees.

Clear Lake City Elementary kindergartner, Mila Lara, along with her teachers, Jessika Finney and Travis Eck, strutted the runway wearing t-shirts showcasing Mila’s design as the winning artist of the Annual “I Love CCISD” Kindergarten Art Contest.

Student entertainment groups including the Clear Lake High School Soundwaves led by Jade Blakey, and Clear Brook High School Orchestra led by Brady Meyer provided musical entertainment for the guests while the Clear Springs High School Audio Video and Production team led by Amber Pecsenye, captured the event in a keepsake high definition video.

“The CCEF Board of Directors works diligently to enhance education in CCISD by hosting events that impact students and our community,” said CCEF Executive Director Deborah Laine. “This event is a true testament of the support generously given by all involved.”

The event was planned by a 15-person volunteer committee that included: CCEF Community Marketing and Events Manager, Kelsey McNeil; Committee Members: Joyce Abbey, Summer Brauer, Suzanne Fair, Kimberly Fleming, Ann Hammond, Lisa Holbrook, Laura Mackay, Amanda Mark, Sarah Moutz, Jill Reason, Deena Rigby, Mary Ann Shallberg and Elizabeth Wang.
