Stars over Texas Gala
The Clear Creek Education Foundation’s Gala Committee asks
that you “Save the Date” to attend the Annual Reach for the
Stars Gala. The “Stars over Texas” Gala will be held on
Saturday, November 7, 2009, at the South Shore Harbour
Resort, 2500 South Shore Blvd in League City. Guests attending
this year’s event will enjoy a tantalizing dinner, exciting
auctions, and will have the opportunity to try their luck at
the Cattle Baron Casino. Local favorite DJ Phil Pampolina will
also be on hand spinning tunes while Gala guests kick up their
heels and dance the night away.
A special feature of the evening will be the recognition of
outstanding alumni from Clear Creek ISD, including Robert
Garza, Julie Kilgore-Baker, Bill Wohrer (Moffett) and
Kathy Jackson-Schmidt. The Clear Creek Education Foundation
will also honor several notable individuals who have made a
difference with their support of public education and the
District. These CCISD Superstars include Gloria Wong, Mary
Alys Cherry from The Citizen, Jason Bailey from
Perdue Brandon Fielder Collins & Mott and Congressman Pete
Olson. Jim and Lee Reinhartsen, along with Dan Boggio,
CEO of PBK Architects, will be presented the George B.
Carlisle Award at the Stars over Texas Gala.
Patty Rogers-Cooper, Gala Chairman, and Lisa Holbrook,
Co-Chairman and Sponsorship/Underwriting Chairman, along with
the Stars over Texas Gala Committee, are busy coordinating this
Texas-themed event. The Committee invites businesses,
organizations and individuals to consider helping sponsor the
Gala, either through underwriting the event, purchasing an ad
in the program or through donations for the exciting auctions
being planned. For more details about the gala, please contact
Patty Rogers-Cooper, 832-483-3354,

The Clear Creek Education Foundation, established in 1992, is
comprised of business and community leaders; all of whom
volunteer to raise funds to support the academic achievement of
all students. Proceeds from the gala help to fund the following
programs: Teacher Innovative
Instructional Grants, Synergistic
Career Exploration Labs, National Board Teacher
Certification and the Clear Horizons Early College High School
program currently underway at San Jacinto
Community College.
Since its inception, the Foundation has awarded grants worth
over $750,000 to CCISD teachers. The Foundation has also funded
and installed five Career Exploration Technology Labs in
intermediate schools. In 2006, the Foundation started assisting
teachers who received their National Board Certification. The
Foundation reimburses the examination fee, over a four year
period, to teachers that continue their employment with CCISD.
The success of the Foundation is due not only to the volunteer
effort of many but also to the countless businesses and
individuals in the community who make a difference by
financially supporting fundraising activities. The following
attachments provide a multitude of options of ways that you can
show your support. In order to properly recognize our
supporters in all publicity materials, donations should be
received no later than October 15, 2009.
Thank you in advance for your commitment to the Clear Creek
Education Foundation.
If you are interested in participating or have any questions
please contact our Underwriters Chairman, Lisa Holbrook, at
832-457-5583 or
lisaholbrook60@comcast.net.
